Weekend Radar (March 28-30)
Holy moly! It’s almost summer, looks like everyone’s enjoying the last few days of the gorgeous spring weather. What a weekend, jam-packed with lots and lots of fun things to do. Can’t decide what to do? We’ve narrowed down on a few interesting things to between Thursday and Sunday:
Food & Dining:
Enjoy Asian fusion food at one of Qatar’s latest fine dining locations, The Dining Room, at Al Najada Boutique Hotel at Souq Waqif. Visit The Dining Room’s website to learn more about it.
Here’s a chance for you to enjoy a day out sampling some of the finest gourmet food from around the world prepared especially by international renowned chefs using the freshest ingredients. Some highlights of the Qatar International Food Festival will be the ‘Dinner in the Sky’ experience operated by the W Hotel and Residences and the BBQ Donut by the Diplomatic Club. Learn more about the festival on the ILoveQatar webpage. It will run on Thursday (6pm-11pm), Friday (1pm-11pm), Saturday (1pm-10pm), and Sunday (2pm-10pm).
From Wednesday through Saturday, you can be a spectator at Qatar’s most happening equestrian competition. Access to Chi Al Shaqab is free of charge. The competition area though requires tickets priced at QR30 for adults and children above 15 years of age, available at the Spectator Plaza. Art & Exhibition:
The annual QAFCO Vegetable & Fruit Show will be organised at Mesaieed’s Al Banush Club. Go watch creative vegetable and ice carvings by professionals from 9.30am to 6pm. Tickets at priced at QR2 for adults and children above the age of five and can be purchased at the entrance of the club’s football ground.
Music & Performing Arts:

From Thursday through Sunday, you can enjoy the entertaining antics of Russian performance artist and clown, Slava Polunin at Slava’s Snowshow. Tickets are priced at QR250, QR500, QR750, and QR1000 and can be purchased online at the Virgin Megastore website for Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. International R&B sensation Sean Paul will be performing live at the Intercontinental Beachside on Friday at 8pm. Tickets priced at QR250 are available for purchase at Crepaway and online at the Virgin Megastore website.
Pets & Grooming:
Cats in Qatar is holding an Open Day on Saturday from 10am through 4pm. Visit the Open Day in Bin Mahmoud to learn more about cat adoptions as well as browse through previously read books, DVDs etc. Cats in Qatar merchandise including cat toys, treats and other knick-knacks will be available in addition to baked goodies for cats and humans. Doha Film Institute brings the best of independent cinema from around the world to Qatar every weekend at the Museum of Islamic Art.
