Catch the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra performing Purcell’s Abdelazer Suite at the Museum of Islamic Art Atrium on Thursday at 6pm. Visit the Museum of Islamic Art website to purchase tickets. Fondue, cheese and chocolate. Think that’s all there is to Swiss food? Think again! Go to the Swiss Food Festival at the Grand Hyatt Doha for a complete Swiss dining experience. Watch Wadjda, the first female-directed award-winning Saudi Arabian film. Wadjda is the poignant story of a 10-year old suburban Saudi Arabian girl who is determined to buy herself a bicycle she longs for and one that her mother refuses to buy her. Just as she is losing hope, she hears about a Koran recitation competition. The film will show on Thursday and Friday at the Museum of Islamic Art at 7pm. The screening will be preceded by an introduction and will be followed by an extended Q&A by the film’s director Haifaa Al-Mansour.
