Various organisations in Qatar have initiated projects to help the needy as charity is an important aspect of the Holy Month of Ramadan. Here’s a list of where projects you can participate in.
Qatar Charity’s Ramadan campaign will focus on fasting Syrian people and people living in Islamic countries and regions suffering from siege or natural disasters. The projects include Iftars, food baskets, financial aid, Zakat Al Fitr, holiday gifts, support for orphans, widows, divorcees and educational and cultural programmes.
‘Take your Adornment’, another project by Qatar Charity, will target 2000 workers and people from low-income groups.
The ‘Fasting Iftar Tables’ will benefit 174,000 fasting people by providing Iftar at 10 community tables, focusing on single workers and passers-by. These tables will be located at New Industrial Area, Abdullah bin Ali Al Musnad Secondary School, Abdul Aziz School, Ahmad ibn Hanbal School, Al Yarmouk, the Arabic Club in New Satwah/Asiri, Al Saliyah, Al Rayyan, Alshanih and Al Wakra.

Ooredoo’s Alrabaa campaign will include hospital visits, children’s activities and visits to different locations, bringing gifts to the people there. As a parallel initiative, Ooredoo will launch a campaign in collaboration with Al Rayyan TV, enabling people to share social and environmental project ideas to make the world a better place. Ooredoo will then support one of these projects. In addition, Ooredoo “Sharing Spheres” will be placed in Villaggio Mall to receive donations for special items including books, toys, mobile phones and electronics, sunglasses and eyeglasses, stationery and medicine.
