Do you remember what you did second Tuesday of February last year? You probably watched your favourite series or movie? Went to your favourite spa and had a pamper day? Doze and slept the entire day? Do you want to spice things up and do something different this year?
Be active. Participate.
Make sure to be part of the activities happening on 12 February as Qatar celebrates its National Sports Day. This year, a bigger and grander celebration is expected across the country as companies and the general public will come together for a day of healthy and active living.
Over 700 volunteers have already signed up and more and more people are feeling the buzz through Facebook and Twitter. Don’t let yourself be left out. Go online and check the rundown of activities happening around Doha on the 12th to see which best suits your interest.
A sports walk, sailing races of all kinds, a cycling event, the Schools Olympic Programme torch, open water swimming, Walk for All, beach water polo, rowing/canoeing/kayaking, dhow cruises and jogging with flags.
Children’s games and a tug-of-war contest, a quiz competition, competitive running events for children and adults, football, volleyball, yoga, Muay Thai, QWSC (Qatar Women’s Sport Committee) handball, the Aspire Run, QWSC basketball, the Walk to Remember and QWSC Tele Match (zany team challenges – think “It’s a Knockout” or “Jeux sans Frontieres” if you’re from the UK or Europe and old enough to remember these).
