If you are planning your weekend, make sure it involves indoor activities or stocking up on sunscreen for the outdoors as the Qatar Meteorology Department forecasts rising weekend temperatures.

According to the Met, temperatures could rise to 41 or 43 degrees Celsius in the next two days.

The highest recorded temperature for Qatar in April in the past 52 years has been 46 C.

This may be followed by mild to strong northwesterly winds from the end of next Saturday to the beginning of Monday, which is expected to be accompanied by dust and a decrease in horizontal visibility.

The best way to stay cool and protected during the summer in Doha is to keep hydrated by drinking a lot of water and staying indoors. Consuming summer foods such as fresh fruit, vegetables, spices and mint can also help keep your body cool.
