[VIDEO] A bottle of water, a greeting, showing you care… What will you do?
A week ago today, JustHere partnered with See My Culture, a local initiative, to launch a summer campaign to reach out to low-income workers. The #WhatIWillDo campaign has received great response from the community, and continues to grow.
Khalid Al Hammadi, one of the founders of See My Culture hopes everyone is turning the tweets and support into action! “That’s the main goal, to encourage others to actually go out there and spread some kindness. Rui, a volunteer from Portugal, and I decided to go out and buy a 100+ drinks and give them out to anyone working under the sun or in the heat. In one hour, all of it was gone! The workers on the street just don’t have access to water and there aren’t many shops around. Even if they have access to public water taps, with extreme heat (44C+), the water turns very hot.”
As for the response from the workers, Khalid says it ranged from surprised and shock, to pure happiness!
The film below captures the spirit of this campaign. Store cold bottles in your car or take an hour out of your day to spread some cheer and kindness.
Here’s how you can be part of this campaign:
1. Gather your friends or family.
2. Buy them a cold drink.
3. Go around Qatar spreading kinds to the workers working under the sun or in the heat! Say hello, smile and make their day. (Download the flyers here)
