Survey: About 69% residents expect cost of living to rise in Qatar
While a majority of residents are hopeful of improving their financial positions in the coming months, about 69% of them also expect the cost of living in Qatar to rise.
According to a survey conducted by Bayt.com and market research agency, YouGov, 40% of respondents said their savings have decreased as compared to last year. When asked about their financial situation, 29% of respondents said their personal financial situation have improved in the last six months, while 37% said there was no change. Another 23% said the situation had become worse, The Peninsula has reported.
However, over half of the respondents were optimistic about job openings in Qatar. About 59% believed a rise in job opportunities in the next six months, while 61% felt there were already plenty opportunities available in Qatar’s job market.
Among working professionals, 41% were satisfied about the career growth opportunities that their current job provided. Other factors that resulted in job satisfaction were compensation (30%), non-monetary benefits (45%), and job security (49%).
