Smart Security Investigator System developed to monitor illegal activities at border ports in Qatar
The Interior Ministry, Airport Security Department in collaboration with the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) has launched an innovative smart security investigator system. This new technology has been developed for more accuracy in the detection of contraband and gives indications on suspected passengers.
According to a press statement, the smart security system will enhance the operational efficiency within the state border ports without affecting the capacity of the movement of departures and arrivals, and in particular as the passenger traffic is witnessing an increase in the Hamad International Airport and Abu Samra border post.[boxify cols_use =”1″ cols =”1″ position =”none” order =”none” box_spacing =”10″ padding =”10″ background_color =”#3c3c3c” border_style =”solid” ]
HOW IT WORKS
Capt. Engineer Ali Hassan Al-Rashed, Head of the Security Technology Division at Lekhwiya and the innovator of this new system, explains:
A normal person has feelings that come directly from the brain by certain signals and cannot be controlled, such as the eye pupil dilation and constriction. Similarly, there are certain signs of a person with abnormal behaviour such as body temperature and eye movement.
The mechanism of the new system works through the signals sent by the brain to the eye and in addition to the body temperature. Thus an algorithm can be developed which is compatible with the technical system showing the status of person whether he has used banned substance or not. This will enable security and custom officers at the airport to track suspects with greater accuracy and speed.[/boxify]
