Sheraton Doha partly opens today; hotel to officially reopen in December
Sheraton Doha will open doors to the public for the first time after it was closed for renovation. A special “sneak peek” is being organised today where local residents and guests will be provided access to the lobby and public areas, with the hotel team offering tours of all the renovated areas, the hotel has announced on its Facebook Page.
While the hotel is preparing to officially re-open in December, its all-day dining outlet, Al Hubara, and its lobby café, Atrium Lounge will be open to guests starting today, The Peninsula has reported. Sheraton Doha closed for renovation from 5 March this year. As part of the project, all guest rooms, conference and meetings spaces, recreation facilities and public areas of the hotel have undergone a major overhaul, including enhancements to its nine food and beverage outlets. Long-term residents would remember Sheraton Hotel as the only structure in WestBay area. Also, Sheraton Doha, along with Gulf Sheraton (present day Marriott Doha) and Sofitel (present day Mercure Grand Hotel Doha City Centre) were the only three major hotels in the country back then.
