Second phase of Kulluna campaign promotes cardiac health
A study published by Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) in March revealed that two thirds of the heart attack patients and half of the stroke patients in Qatar were younger than 55 years. Moreover, according to the National Stepwise Survey conducted under the supervision of the Supreme Council of Health (SCH) last year, nearly half of the Qatari population alone has three out of five of the risk factors that can lead to lifestyle diseases.
To keep a check on rising incidences of heart diseases among residents, the national health and safety campaign ‘Kulluna’ will now focus on cardiac health in its second phase.
Titled ‘Kulluna for a Healthy Heart’, the campaign will inform residents about heart diseases, preventive measures, treatments available in the country and lifestyle changes to be incorporated to promote cardiac health.
The Kulluna for a Healthy Heart campaign is supported by the Kulluna Healthy Heart Team, which is made up of several multidiscipline professionals from HMC and is sponsored by ConocoPhillips.
The campaign’s first event is schedule for end of May and will offer residents a opportunities to get advice, health checks and tests for their heart condition.
