SCH: Tang is safe for consumption
Following concerns about the possible contamination of popular drink ‘Tang’, the Supreme Council of Health (SCH) has confirmed that the product is safe for consumption.
According to a report in The Peninsula, SCH officials had recalled some batches of the product from supermarkets to conduct laboratory tests. As per test results, all the samples checked were safe and in compliance with the GCC specifications.
The speculation about the product’s safety arose when social media sites started buzzing with video clips showing holes on the foil of the Tang bottles. However, the SCH has clarified that the holes were a normal procedure carried out by manufacturers as a pressure relief system.
