Renovated Al Khor Park to feature a mini zoo
Come August, and the Al Khor Park will once again open its doors to residents in Qatar seeking a family friendly leisure spot in the country.
According to a report in the Gulf Times, the Al Khor Park is all set to be a unique tourist attraction with a range of features added to it. One of the park’s main features includes a special animal farm or mini zoo, along with a large aviary that is currently undergoing construction.
Visitors will also have access to a spacious restaurant, mosque, museum, mini golf area, wall mural, skating area, children’s play area, basketball court, food kiosks, drinking fountain, and an amphitheatre, the report states.
In addition, a mini train has been installed to provide visitors a tour of the entire park. Other features include a large man-made lake and manicured gardens, while children will be able to enjoy slides, rock climbing walls and skateboarding.
Spread over an area of 240,000sqm, the Al Khor Park’s renovation an expansion is said to cost around QR250 million.
