Prime Minister officially opens HMC’s Expanded Pediatric Emergency Center in Al Sadd
His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani Prime Minister and Minister of Interior officially opened Hamad Medical Corporation’s (HMC) newly completed expansion of its Pediatric Emergency Center (PEC) in Al Sadd.
The expansion sees the center grow by 25 percent with an extra 22 new beds distributed on 13 treatment rooms, six triage rooms, an emergency procedure room and an isolation unit, bringing the total number of beds in the facility to 86. An extra 30 nurses have been hired for a total of 216 nurses and 65 doctors; charged with evaluating and treating the emergency needs of children.
“The expanded facility allows for a more efficient flow of pediatric patients, with additional triage areas and examination rooms and staff contributing to a reduction in wait times,” said Dr Khalid Al Ansari, Medical Director of HMC’s Pediatric Emergency Services.
The Pediatric Emergency Center Al Sadd is located on Suhaim Bin Hamad intersection, Mirqaab Al Jadeed Area 39. It is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
