Prices of vegetables fall drastically at Abu Hamour wholesale market
Planning to shop for groceries soon? Make a visit to the wholesale market this weekend.
There has been a sharp fall in the prices of locally produced vegetables at the Abu Hamour wholesale market, Gulf Times has reported.
A box of 6-8kg tomatoes, for example, is being sold as low as QR3 to QR6. A box of 4kg of broccoli comes at a cost of QR8-10, while 10kg of cucumber would come for QR5-8. However, prices of fruits have remained the same, with strawberry and bananas being sold at a slightly higher price.
While low prices of vegetables are highly benefiting customers, local farmers are finding it difficult to earn profits, the report has stated.
