MoI launches anti-begging campaign for Ramadan
The Ministry of Interior has cautioned residents in Qatar against falling prey to beggars.
According to the Ministry, begging is rampant during the Holy Month of Ramadan during which people misuse the spirit of charity. One could notice people illegally asking for money from residents at the mosques, shopping malls or even in highly populated streets.
In a recent post on social media, MoI has advised all citizens and residents to give their donations to authorised charity organisations in the country, which provide the material and financial aid to the needy thereby preserving their dignity and prevent them from begging. The public can report any incidents of begging to the Ministry by calling 2347444/3361 8627
