MoI arrests four Asians for illicit liquor trade
Four Asians were arrested by the authorities of the North Security Department for producing and selling large volumes of homemade liquor, the Ministry of Interior has announced in a statement.
According to the report, the Al Fazaa police received a hint during a routine patrolling, when they spotted a man driving his car in a suspicious manner in the North Security controlled area. After obtaining his permission, the police proceeded to inspect his vehicle in which they found 120 plastic bottles filled with homemade liquor.
The substances were seized and the accused was taken into custody. During interrogation, he confessed that he was selling liquors in the northern parts of the country after buying them from a house in Messaimer.
After completing necessary legal procedures in coordination with Al Fazaa and Messaimer Police, the house was raided and equipment for the production of liquors was found. Three other Asian nationals who were engaged in liquor production were arrested from the house and many substances used for liquor making were seized. The accused were referred to the concerned department for further legal procedures and refer to Public Prosecution.
