Ministry announces scholarship plan for 21,386 Qatari students and government employees
The Ministry of Administrative Development in Qatar has announced a national scholarship programme that would help enhance the efficiency and competency of employees in all government organisations.
According to a report by QNA, the scholarship programme lies within the framework of the comprehensive development and sustainable progress of all fields in the State of Qatar. HE the Minister of Administrative Development Dr. Issa bin Saad Al-Jaffali Al-Nuaimi, said that the Ministry “drew up its strategic objectives to link education output to needs of governmental agencies and labour market through an integrated plan designed to gradually enable Qatari cadres to occupy specialist positions with government agencies”.
As part of the plan, about 21,386 employees in government bodies as well as students at universities in Qatar or abroad will be covered. The various disciplines that would be included are: medicine, engineering, computer science, financial management, economy, tourism, media and public relations, communications, aviation and other disciplines. From these, the medical and engineering sectors have enjoyed the highest percentage required for the scholarship plan for 2015/2016. It provides the secondment of 3,485 students and employees in various disciplines.
