Local teams ready for the challenge of EFG Sailing Arabia – The Tour 2015; Boats expected to reach Doha shores on February 25
A fifteen day non-stop race across the Gulf, this year’s EFG Sailing Arabia – The Tour 2015 will see challenges for the coveted trophy from five local teams.
Armed with detailed knowledge of local waters and conditions Zain Team, Royal Navy of Oman, Renaissance, International Maritime College Oman (IMCO) and OMIFCO are ready to rise to the challenge of the all-new route against some of the world’s best sailors. Sports fans across Qatar will have the chance to witness the talents of all the teams on February 26th when the action-packed in-port race kicks off at Four Seasons Marina, Doha ahead of the final leg of the race.
EFG Sailing Arabia – The Tour 2015, a unique sailing challenge over 700 nautical miles and 15 days, has been refreshed this year with a dramatic change in the route. After the opening stage from Muscat to Sohar, teams will set sail for Ras Al Khaimah, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, in the UAE, as well as Qatar and Bahrain, in identical Farr 30 racing yachts.
