Flight-catchers, don’t leave your car at the Airport Park
The next time you plan a short trip overseas, think of where to park your vehicle first.
According to a report in Peninsula, most people park their vehicles in the free parking lot near the Doha International Airport (DIA) Park, instead of the paid parking slot meant for passengers. But instead of avoiding parking charges, they end up paying fines for illegal parking.
The free-parking space outside the departure terminal is meant for Park visitors only. Unfortunately, they have a hard time finding a space due to illegal parking by flight-catchers – parking their vehicles along the walk-ways for several days. Read full report here.
The DIA provides 900 parking spaces outside the departure and arrival terminals for cars to park for a maximum of 30 days. Those requiring longer parking time can access the 350 parking spaces reserved for long-term car park. The rates are QR2 per hour or QR45 per day. There are covered waiting areas which can be available ranging from QR5 to 120 per day. Click here for parking rates at the airport.
