DFI to hold 48 hour documentary challenge

DFI to hold 48 hour documentary challenge

Attention filmmakers. Doha Film Institute’s 48-hour filmmaking challenge is back again!

This time’s challenge is however to make a documentary in 48 hours starting April 11 to April 13, 2013.

Go ahead, form a team of two or four. Choose a topic from the list of local stories that DFI will provide and make your award-winning documentary.

Two best films will be chosen by the judges from DFI and the public via Youtube to be screened during DFI film screening in the future as well as in the DFI booth at the Al Jazeera International Documentary Film Festival that will be held later this month.

In a press statement, DFI said “The big idea behind the 48hr Filmmaking Challenges is that anyone can make a film— with equipment as simple as smart phones and standard software. We provide the framework and the push, and some great opportunities for work to be seen. It’s a simple way for the community to make something amazing.”
