British Festival 2014 begins today
The one-month-long British Festival 2014 was kicked off today by British Ambassador to Qatar, Nicholas Hopton.
Some of the events lined up include:
- Study in the UK Exhibition: Students planning to study in the UK can get a chance to meet officials from 22 British Universities, and learn more about the courses available there.

Venue: Radisson Blu, Giwana Ballroom
- Circle of Sound: Stay tuned for a live performance by renowned sarod player and composer Soumik Datta, a resident artist for the London based Alchemy Festival and the Rich Mix cultural foundation. Joining him are Austrian drummer Bernhard Schimpelsberger, English singer-songwriter Fiona Bevan, and well-known Qatari artists.

- Parkour demonstration: Watch UK’s leading parkour group ‘The Urban Playground’ invade Souq Waqif with their breath-taking tricks.

- Welsh Cultural Week: Experience Welsch culture through this week long festivity which includes a performance by the Welsh National Opera (WNO) and a photography exhibition.
