Admissions closed across many Indian schools for new academic year
Many of the Indian schools in Qatar have already stopped admissions for the new academic year, leaving parents in a lurch.
According to a report in The Peninsula, Birla Public School, MES Indian School, DPS Modern Indian School, Shantiniketan Indian School, Bhavan’s Public School, Pearl School and Noble International School are among the schools that have closed registration for this year. Most of these schools have reported a surge in admissions for kindergarten.
The strict number crunch is a result of the SEC and Civil Defence regulation that requires schools to accommodate a maximum of 30 students only per classroom as a safety precaution. However, with a large influx of expatriates in Qatar, schools are unable to grant seats to new students.
