About 4,000 cases registered every month at labour health centre
The labour health centre in the Industrial Area by far receives the highest number of cases as compared to other health centres in the country.
According to a report in The Peninsula, the health centre, which exclusively caters to low-income workers in industrial Area, receives about 4,000 injury-related cases every month.
On-site injury was mostly due to the general lack of safety awareness among workers and companies alike. To tackle this issue, officials from the occupational health monitoring section of the Supreme Council of Health have begun visiting industries and companies to ensure safety measures are adopted at work, as well as to train doctors at work-sites on how to cater to patients with injuries.
