InterNations Community in Doha announces Ramadan drive to help migrant workers
With Ramadan around the corner, many strive to dedicate some time to help the underprivileged. If you wish to make a difference in this holy season, the upcoming 3rd Drive For Good (Ramadan Appeal) event is a great opportunity to kick off the month with a humanitarian initiative.
Hosted by the InterNations Volunteer Group in Doha, the purpose of the event is to help migrant workers through with the hot summer months by donating basic necessities. The summer heat is upon us and while most of us can cope by living in our lovely homes and driving our air-conditioned cars, there are thousands of workers in Qatar who are struggling to eat, sleep and satisfy the simplest of human needs, even access to clean drinking water is a struggle. There are 21,000 people living at the Shihaniya migrant workers camp and it is the goal of this initiative to help make their lives easier this summer. The group will be collecting donations and delivering them to the camp.
The event will take place on Saturday, 4 June 2016 at the Shihaniya migrant worker camps, and will run from 15:30 to 18.00.
