U.S. Embassy celebrates friendship, partnership with Qatar at National Day celebration
The U.S. Embassy in Doha hosted its National Day reception at the Sheraton Hotel to mark the culmination of the week-long celebration of the United States in Qatar, “Discover America Week.”
Ambassador Dana Shell Smith welcomed the guests of honor, HE Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Rumaihi, Minister of Municipality and Environment, HE Minister of Public Health, Dr Hanan Mohamed Al-Kuwari, HE Ambassador Ibrahim Fahkroo and HE Ambassador Ali Ibrahim Ahmed Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and a distinguished array of Qatari officials, fellow diplomats, business, cultural, and education leaders who came in recognition of the strong U.S.-Qatar bilateral relationship.
In her remarks, Ambassador Smith highlighted the deep partnerships and friendship between the two nations and recognized the diplomats, American and Qatari businesses, students and educators, and men and women in uniform who come together on a personal level every day to deepen ties between the United States and Qatar. “Shared appreciation for and understanding of different cultures connects us in a way that allows us to better conduct all other conversations, whether on diplomacy, trade, or politics. It allows us to understand each other as human beings and on a personal level,” said Ambassador Smith.
