eServices now accessible through MoI website
All services relating to the Ministry of Interior can now be accessed through its website. The ministry has launched a bilingual eServices portal that can be accessed by residents and citizens at any given time.
These include all visa-related services, traffic and security services, Iqama, etc. Prior to this, online services were offered by Hukoomi, but now everything has been integrated under one roof.

Mediapersons were given a tour of the website at the MoI pavilion in QITCOM.
To use the service, you need to have a ‘smart card’ that can be issued by the Immigration Department. You can apply for one even at the MoI pavilion at QITCOM, for which you need your Qatar ID card. A smart card will cost you QR300 and is valid for three years. You can use the card to access egates at the airport or the self-service kiosks.
Once you get the smart card, you can buy a smart card reader from any authorised store mentioned on MoI website to log on to the portal.
As part of its campaign to go paperless, MoI had launched Metrash 2 earlier, a special mobile app that offers the same services currently offered on the website. The Minsitry also added that now a user can access the Metrash app on more than one mobile device at the same time.
