[PHOTOS] Fifth edition of Qatar International Food Festival begins
Hungry Doha-ites, the annual food fiesta is back again. The fifth edition of the Qatar International Food Festival took off with a lip-smacking start yesterday at the MIA PArk, and will last until March 23, 2014.
The festival features 11 general zones, including four food zones, a live cooking zone, 55 food stalls and five kiosks of restaurants and exhibitors. The price of food offered ranges from QR5-25. Other signature zones and activities include the Dinner in the Sky zone and the BBQ Donut.
There is no entrance fee to the event. And unlike last year, you don’t have to buy coupons for food, as exhibitors accept cash. The timings of the festival for the rest of the days are:
Friday (March 21) – 2:00 pm to 11:00 pm
Saturday (March 22) – 2:00pm to 10:00pm
Sunday (March 23) – 2:00pm to 10:00pm.
Be prepared for heavy traffic if you are driving up to the MIA Park. Organisers have advised public to make use of the shuttle service will run between two dedicated parking lots and MIA Park. The first shuttle bus pick up location is close to Al Bidda Park, and the second location is near Al Sharq. Signage have been placed along both routes to help you locate these spots.
The timings of shuttle service are as follows:
• Friday, March 21: 1:30pm – 11:00pm
• Saturday, March 22: 12:00pm – 10:00pm
• Sunday, March 23: 1:30pm – 10:00pm
