Mowasalat adds two more franchisees; cab fleet to increase to 4000 by end of 2014

Profit Group and Ibin Ajayan Trading Group, two private companies, have signed on with Mowasalat to start operating Karwa-branded taxis. Each of these companies will launch 500 new taxis by the end of this year, sending the total number of Karwa cabs in operation to 4000.

Ibin Ajayan Trading Group, which is a local transportation company, will add around 300 vehicles to the fleet in August and another 200 in three months whereas Profit Group, which operates all over the GCC region, is expected to launch 300 taxis by the end of May and the remaining 200 in July.

All the new vehicles are set to be equipped with the latest technology for auto dispatch and monitoring system under the unified call centre. The cabs for each company will also have a distinct colour for their roofs, which they can be identified by.

Mowasalat also offers cabs driven by female drivers operated by its franchisee, Al Ijarah. This service is available only between 6am and 11pm and is restricted to use by women and women with young children.
