Scotland DayGet a slice of Scottish culture this Thursday as Katara celebrates Scotland Day n partnership with the British Council and the Scottish Government. The evening includes Scottish and Celtic music with a live concert from the Ross Ainslie and Jarlath Henderson Band, a traditional Scottish Country Dance display. There’s also a food tasting reception where you can sample authentic Scotland flavours.

MIA Gallery Walk-In and Family Friday Tours
MIA is offering free-guided tours of the museum’s permanent collections of Islamic art objects, spanning over 1000 years and three continents. The Family Tours include an Animals Tour suitable for younger children and the Epic Tales tour that is ideal for pre-teens.

Adel-Abdessemed-age-orAlgerian artist Adel Abdessemed is presenting a new exhibition titled L’âge d’or which comprises many of his recent works including drawings, paintings, sculptures and videos. Many of these have been created especially for this exhibition. Abdessemed is known for his use of various materials, and he usually employs them in provocative ways – camel bones, gold, salt, brass, gum and terracotta. Visit Mathaf for a unique experience.
