What you need to know about Emir Cup 2013
As football fans in Qatar gear up for the most anticipated match of the year, here’s what you need to know about the final match of the H.H. Emir Cup 2013.
The final match between Al-Sadd and Al-Rayyan will take place on 18 May, 2013 at 6:45pm at Khalifa International Stadium. GPS coordinates: 25.265034,51.448359
Tickets can be purchased from outlets at Villaggio, The Mall, Landmark, Lagoona mall, Souq Waqif, Katara, Fifty One East in City Center, Al Wakrah Centre, Lulu Hypermarket in airport area, Al Khor Mall and the Khalifa Stadium from 9am to 10pm Sat-Thu and 3pm to 10pm on Friday. - Fan zones
There are a couple of fan zones set up in different locations around the city. Here’s where you can go:
– A mega fan zone sponsored by Shell Qatar will be located outside of Khalifa Stadium between Gate 25 and Gate 2 and will open its doors at 3:00pm on 18 May.
– Another fan zone will be set up in Al Wakrah Park (Marah Land) on the 16 and 17 of May between 3.00pm and 10.00 pm where competitions will be held for foosball, shoot-out and playstation.
– Ooredoo is also organising various sport-themed activities till 17 May, between 4pm and 7pm in Landmark, Villaggio and Souq Waqif.
– A high-tech football themed Fan Zone “L’Batak” launched by QFA and Qatar Shell is currently set up at the Al Khor Mall and the Khalifa Stadium. It features a wide range of fitness- and football-related activities for youth.
- Which gate to enter
To avoid confusion, the officials have assigned different gates for different groups of spectators: Gates 22, 23, 24 and 25 for Al Rayyan Spots Club spectators and Gates 2, 3, 4 and 5 for Al Sadd Sports Club spectators. Gates 6,7 and 8 are allocated for families while Gate 12 is reserved for people with disabilities.

There will be several raffle draws held before the final match. Lucky spectators can win amazing prizes worth QR3 million. Prizes include Toyota cars (20), vouchers (200), iPads(80), Blackberry Phones (80) and motorbikes (16).
For those of you too lazy to walk, Abdullah Abdulghani & Bros. Co. (AAB) is providing a fleet of Lexus vehicles to transport VIPs and Toyota Coaster Buses to transport spectators from the parking to the stadium.
