Qatar rocks, literally, as earthquake hits Iran-Pakistan border

A wave of panic struck residents of Doha once again as tremors were felt in some parts of the city at around 2pm, including Al Sadd, Mansoura, Muntazah, West Bay and even as far as Mesaieed.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a major earthquake at magnitude 7.8 hit the Iran-Pakistan border killing at least 40 people. People were evacuated from buildings around West Bay. Many vehicles were caught in a traffic jam around West Bay. No casualties were reported.

This is the second earthquake to hit Iran and Qatar. The last earthquake to hit the country was on April 10 and measured 6.3 on the Richter Scale. Read more about it in our previous article on JustHere.

Qatar rocks, literally! … and how!! This time it was a wee bit violent in my 4th floor office, some of the office fixtures rattled … last week they swinged and swayed gently but did not make a rattling noise. Feel sorry for the loss of life in Iran and Pakistan, I am sure the numbers will be much higher than what is being reported as of now.
