Weekend Radar (February 21 – 24)

If you go looking for fun, entertainment and relaxation in Doha, Doha does not disappoint. Regardless of age or gender, Doha’s weekend entertainment options do not allow anyone to feel left out. Here are a few things on our radar this weekend (February 21 – 24).

Sports:

WWE Raw is coming to Qatar at Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex; 8pm on Thursday and Friday.

Technology:

Fuel your obsession for technology by trying out all the latest Windows mobile and tablet devices. Visit Microsoft Qatar’s booth at Landmark Mall. They are giving away one phone as a prize, you could be one of the winners! They are open from 9.30am on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. More info here.

Family:

Spend some quality hours with the family at the Saturday Family Fun Day at the Lagoon Garden, Ritz Carlton from 12.30 to 4pm, every Saturday. You can make your reservations here.

Dine out:

Salad Boutique at Aspire Zone. At this brand new restaurant, which is located behind the Aspire Ladies Gym, salads are your entrees. A unique concept with equally good food and generous portions to match.  Thai Culture and Food Festival at the Royal Thai Embassy this Friday from 10am to 5pm.

 

Music and Film:

Mathaf Museum of Modern Art is organizing its second annual ‘College Night’ for university students from 5.30pm to 9pm on Saturday, an evening of food, games, music, prizes and fun. This year, the evening will feature calligrafiti artist eL Seed (check out his work at the Salwa tunnels), Arabic hip-hop performers, Mighty Jokerz Crew and a special screening of the film ‘Lyrics Revolt’. Socialise:

Doha Tweetup at Magnolia Bakery on Saturday morning from 10am to 12 noon. Meet people around Doha, make some new friends and learn the art of icing cupcakes. Don’t forget to RSVP here.

 

 

Kids:

Go Kidz Go, a youth development program that educates, motivates, and inspires children between 7 and 12 years of age to live a healthy life. This is an eight-week programme that begins on Saturday at Garvey’s European Family Village. You can learn more at the ILoveQatar.

Drive:

Enjoy some fresh air around some of Doha’s lovely parks, (the Huwaila parks are a short drive away) and other outdoor activities (for example, kayaking at the mangroves) that JustHere has reviewed.
